CURRENT STATE OF SCHOOLS

As I’m sure you know, not everything is all sunshine and rainbows with schools nationwide, as well as here in California.  In an EdSource article dated January 7, 2022, a number of predictions were made for the 2021-2022 school year and for the calendar year of 2022 regarding schools and education in general – specifically for schools within the state of California.  (EdSource is a non-profit journalism website that reports on education issues in California – and beyond.)   This article covers things like the Smarter Balanced Standardized tests which will be back this year after a 2 year hiatus, student wellness, attendance and absenteeism, battle over mandatory vaccinations, and proposed education initiatives.  (I have posted a link to the article below so that you can read it in full if you would like.)

Another article by the California Department of Education, also dated January 7, 2022, covers some of the same topics and also does not give a bright outlook on testing results.  This article also provides additional information with regard to school funding.  It concludes with a statement from the State Superintendent of Public Instruction, Tony Thurmond.  (Again, I have posted a link to the article in case you would like to read it.)

HOW SUCCESS TUTORING ONLINE CAN HELP

Despite all, in good times and in not-so-good times, Success Tutoring Online is here and available to help your child succeed in school.  Our tutors help students to understand the material being studied and help them to master the skills required.  The students that we work with are happy, confident and winning.  Parents let us know all the time how thankful they are for our help and for how well their children are doing.  (See student wins and success below.)

All of our tutoring is still being done online, as opposed to our physical office location.  However, with the interactive, online platform that is used, students get live, direct, one-to-one help from a knowledgeable tutor that has teaching experience and is familiar with the curriculum being used.

STUDENT WINS AND SUCCESSES!

Below are a couple of the most recent wins and successes:

One of our 12th grade students (who has been with us for several years) was recently accepted to a Chicago university. Due to exceptional grades and an outstanding essay she was also given a 4 year partial scholarship!  Needless to say, she and her family are very, very happy!

One 6th grade student came to near the beginning of the school year because he had all D’s in math. After working with his tutor, Devon, he arrived to tutoring last week all smiles – he was happy to show off his first 6th grade A in math! Yay!!

Another one of our high school students, a 9th grader from Utah, was struggling in math with grades in the D range as well. After just a few months of once a week tutoring with Katie P, mom is happy to report consistent A’s in math!

BOTTOM LINE: WE CAN HELP

So, the bottom line is this:  Despite whatever may be happening in schools, Success Tutoring Online is here to help you and your child succeed!
